so you have some 4 typical mathematical methods modules vs 12 in CS (tronic content shown, cant find the cse content in their site. both of the degrees have the same math modules) which is 33% . but quantifying likewise is not the best and when those ucsc modules are compared to modules like real analysis, its more like 19%. thats ucsc. 80% of the software wannabe engineers are not from ucsc but from other places where the percentage is more like 5% or so. but not a concern. you are an engineer as long as the company gives you the designation in the name of her majesty defying the commoner ECSL act
Just by looking at the subject names, you came to conclusions. See the difference in UCSC mathematics-related subjects are grouped under the same name and in CSE it is sub divided into each subtopic. Furthermore, what has been taught is what is needed without wasting students' time and university resources. And adding into that there are options for people to research in the final year going deeply on things. I knew from my time that some students had even gone for theoretical computing-related deep mathematics during this period. This is at the discretion of the University student. These are not school children to teach everything.

According to what you are saying these people are not qualified enough even 5% compared to you as per your brilliant calculation above depicting strong mathematical knowledge which Allan Turing himself would die by laughter.
I invite you to start a campaign in MRT urging people not to go for IT industry as it is way below for them and since Colombo people were in this field way before and sets the standards for the whole country in many areas and even before any other institute produce any graduates for the field.
PS : I had worked with some good people through out the yrs in my teams from CSE MRT, CSE PERA, TRONIC MRT, CSE RUHUNA and many coevals from same and never ever met someone with your attitude. Now Its proven that CSE has the top set from the batch.

ලංකාවේ IESL කියන්නේ නිකං අර GMOA එක වෘත්තිය කුහකත්වය තියෙන තැනක්. උං කැමති නෑ ඉතින් වෙන උන්ට Engineer Title එක දෙනවට. හැබැයි මේ 21 වන සියවසේ ඉතිං දැන් IESL එක පොඩ්ඩක් චොර. හැබැයි යාංතං GMOA එක නං ඔලුව උස්සලා ඉන්නවා. උඹලා කියන හැටියට IESL Approval නැත්තං Engineer කෙනෙක් වෙන්න බෑ, ඒ වගේම Software Engineer කියලා Title එකකුත් ලෝකේ නෑ. එතකොට Google. Microsoft ඕවල ඉන්න SE ලා IESL Approved ද? Google එකේ DEgree නැතුව උණත් SE වුණ ඉං ඉන්නව. එතකොට උඹලා Google එකෙන් IESL නැති උං Engineer කරා කියලා Google පාවිච්චි නොකර ඉන්නවද? නෑනේ? ටිකක් කුහකත්වය අත ඇරලා විවෘත මනසකින් බලපං. එතකොට හරි. අනික Software Engineering වල Engineering කෑල්ල තිබුණා කියලා කියන්නේ Mathematics ම නෙමෙයි.
