well I dont completely disagree with you. They have made it that way to reduce weight . However 2017 version will have more safety fixed. Its a matter of price tag vs features

Even then we'll have properly maintained Japanese cars for the money one should spend for a KWID. Same price tag, more features and build quality. win-win!

So you cancelled your KWID booking and went for a Twingo?

The Twingo is a small car (smaller than the Kwid) which is a bit over-priced. I'd love to have a Clio, but as I'm reluctant to pay all the unjustifiable import taxes on cars, it's not an option for me at this time. I'm equally reluctant to pay Rs. 23 lakhs ($ 15,550) for a Japanese, or whatever, car that is 15 years old, irrespective of its maintenance record. My budget at the moment is Rs. 23 lakhs, so I'm left only with a Hobson's choice, and that's the Kwid. Therefore, I'm sticking to my decision, and won't cancel my booking.

I was just wandering why did you share an article on Renault Twingo out of the blue.

And FTR you can buy a 10 YO jap in pristine condition for 23 lakhs, not 15 yo

i was talking about the renault captur it has all safety options

    http://www.euroncap.com/en/results/renault/captur/8888

just now i went there... and u knw what? kwid is half time weight reduced than captur. and itsnt made in india. 5 star vehicle. The thing is Renault's most of the vehicles are ranked 3 stars or above. renault, volvo like that brands are well known for safety vehicles in europe. I just watched a crash test on kwid as well. well m guess was correct. the way it crashes nd whew. its worst than a maruti. its like made out of cardboard. only thing i liked about the kwid is its design. (outer)

But as always i believe " 4wheels are better than 2 wheels" :P.

Well KWID doesn't belong to small car segment of Renault, It belongs to Indian car segment of Renault :)

Seriously stop trying to justify your purchase and encourage people to buy the KWID by pointing out how good a carmaker Renault UK/France is. If the same reviewer reviewed the KWID you'll read the horror story of the car reviewer who got cancer after reviewing a Renault made in India.

This thread is all about the Renault Kwid. It's aimed at people who have an interest in that car. What you are doing is that you are using the thread to convince the readers what a wise investment it is to buy a decades old Japanese car. Everybody knows that buying an old car (whatever the make) is stepping into a financial sinkhole. You and a few others in this forum who may own old Japanese cars have got goosebumps by seeing the acceptance of the Kwid among Sri Lankan car buyers (800 orders in 12 days). You are deliberately misleading people because you know very well that the secondhand market for your old Japanese cars is destined to crash, due to the enormous tax difference between new Japanese cars and the sub-1000CC cars.

well you have to come to sri lanka my friend you cant stay in japan and judge vehicles. If you think this is worst than a maruti then you need to get your facts right. just saying stuff will prove nothing, provide facts with credible sources

that is a not a correct statement . japanese car market has nothing to do with other car markets. Good examples are kia, perouda and even maturi

but people would go for affordable brandnew vehicles likes those than buying 10-20-30 years old vehicles. that has happened already 800+ kwid sales within a month is the proof of that

i just compared the strength of the body with maruti 800... they wont use carbon fiber or smthing to reduce the weight. so KWID s body .... even the new alto 800s body is weak. as i said from indian cars only k10 is exceptional. nd the weight is just 600Kg smthing around that. :baffled: and in this video theres nt much things to say its way better than alto..its almost like the same.but i like the design of the kwid  if i wear glasses i would wear a european :P not japan
