* May 7 to June 29 - Schools under-16 and under-14 western province rugby tournaments. Sponsored by Suntel Limited. Final round of the two tournaments will be worked off from June 2 to 29 in the Cup, Plate, Bowl, Shield and Saucer categories. Team Groupings1979muth said:
* 29th Jun - Western Province under-16 rugby tournament finals between St. Thomas and Royal at Royal Sports Complex
* After June 29 - A two day tournament for under 18 teams
* June 29 to July 12 - President’s Trophy knockout tournament
* July first 2 weeks - Matches against Gordonstoun School from England
* July last week - Matches against Bancroft College from England

The Disciplinary Committee that was appointed to look into the incident of allegedly allow playing three ineligible players by Isipathana College, against Dharamaraja College in their inter-school rugby match, has decided to award the four winning points to the loosing Rajans. But Isipathana will continue to remain the top division ‘Sunday Island’ learns.
It is also reported that the Disciplinary Committee that was appointed to investigate and submit their decision to the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association’s EXCO in respect to the a protest submitted by Dharamaraja, against Isipathana, has decided that Isipathana has acted on the instruction by an Education Director of the Western Province and by doing so they have given opportunity to players who were deemed to be eligible, but as a form of penalty, the committee has decided to withdraw the four points awarded for a win from Isipathana and award the same to the loosing Dharmaraja College team.
With this decision three teams, namely St Anthony’s, Dharmaraja and Vidyartha, will be relegated to ‘B’ division at end of this season, while Isipathana in spite of the deduction of four points will continue to survive in the top division.

Kingswood win schools title

Kingswood took the schools' Premier League Division One title when they beat Trinity by 12 points ( a goal and a try) to 5 points ( a try) in the schools rugby final match in Kandy. At half time the winners led at 12 points to nil. For Kingswood skipper and number 8 Gayan Ratnage scored both tries while Roshan Weeraratne converted the first try. For Trinity flanker Jaris Omar scored their unconverted try. Asela de Silva who is on a short vacation from Australia refereed.
