    සලිලි තියනවා නම් සින්ගා යවලා රිකවර් කරගන්න පුලුවං . ඕවා මහ වැඩ නෙමෙයි දැං . :baffled:

Singapore isn't cheap either. Normally for electronic failures the charge is about S$500 to S$ 2000 - or even more if R/W head damage as well. The level of damage determines the cost
China is the cheapest. (But need to learn Chinese first to communicate) - unless you know someone in there who can help you.

    External Hard Drive Recovery Mac

Hiya! This may be a delayed response but if you're using a Mac, this is my go-to software - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MaOH_hkKDk

I'm not sure though how far this may recover but it is able to scan the entire drive and locate any information that may be restored from the computer. Just stop saving information on the Mac to prevent overwriting of data, install the said recovery program, and then perform the steps from the video tutorial.

    Hope this helps! :)

Don't you have at least the important stuff backed up in an external drive or any other storage like Dropbox?
Data recovery can be easy or very costly depending on the fault.
Thanks to a tip you gave me I was able to recover my whole external hdd with ease:D That saved me at least 69usd. But my problem was the drive was RAW.
I think the OP needs to insert the laptop hdd in an enclosure and see how far exactly the hdd goes. Whether it's just a read error, or whether it's physically dead, right?
