1. The best Auto watches are the ones assembled in the same factory where the mechanism is manufactured.
2. Ex- Orient (Japan) autos are assembled in the one-and-only factory where their mechanisms are produced (there is only one factory in Japan).
3. Seiko s are INFERIOR to Orient because they’re assembled in many different places. The mechanisms are produced in several different factories and then transported somewhere else. This is NOT the ideal method to make auto watches.
4. If you want one, try to find a Japan-assembled one (not a Singapore one). (The problem is not the mechanism itself but the process of transportation.)
5. Seiko 5 Auto has the ‘S7 mechanism’ which is around 20 years old. It’s not a very accurate one.
6. In comparison, Japanese Orients have a 60 years old mechanism which is highly accurate. Have you checked the Orients? They’re a lot cheaper than Seiko. But Seikos have many designs to choose.
