My experience with SLT Fiber has been very positive so far, since 2020ish (when I switched to fiber) I had only 2 outages, both were fixed within 24 hours.

When they started deploying 5Ghz ONTs I visited my nearest SLT regional office to ask if I could upgrade from my 4GHz ONT. Made the request around 3 PM and by 10 PM the next day they arrived at my house with a brand new 5GHz ONT. They installed it and took away my old device - 100% free of charge.

I meant 'if the government does anything to make it harder for Starlink to operate freely in SL'.

Even Starlink has access to SL, government has unlimited ways to disrupt their services in SL to the point most will not consider Starlink as a viable alternative.

I'm totally fixed on buying Starlink even SLT and Dialog match their services. I hated SLT for providing shitty services even when I was a child. Until now there wasn't an alternative. Government has an escape goat now for anything regarding 'national security'. Next time some shit happens in SL I'm 100% expecting them to blame it on 'International ISPs'.

I get your point. local isps & trcsl are horrible. trcsl like puppet of isps. trcsl still couldn't enable 'number portability'.
if you have no issue with power usage (can't run off of battery bank), little speed fluctuations because of the weather, starlink's 9000 option is great option.

I don't care about pings or occasional signal drops coz currently I'm on 4G Can't be worse than this nonsense. I'm considering the 15K residential plan. RN I'm paying close to 9000 for this shitty 8mbps unlimited 4G connection. I'm just waiting for early adopters to get their dishes first so I know it's working smoothly. 9000 for 8mbps? don't you guys have fiber in your area?

We do have but until recently fiber and 4G had the same speeds for unlimited connections so I chose the portable version out of the two coz I travel a lot. Even now fiber has only 20mbps for around 10K a month and I don't see the point in buying a fiber line for those speeds.
Unlimited data is my priority coz I'm not a fan of checking the data usage everyday and asking my family to reduce their internet usage like this is 2008-2010.
Buying higher speeds mean more data usage. SLT baits people with higher speeds with low data bundles and that is like a donkey chasing after the carrot.
My average usage is close to 500GB per month and that is with a 8mbps speed cap. God knows what it would be with a 100+ mbps.

It's not unlimited. I think some government entity or court asked them not to advertise FUP controlled connection as 'Unlimited' but SLT doesn't obey those rules. They played with the naming and that is why the confusion. This is why I told SLT lures people with higher speeds with lower data caps.
