I have being experiencing a significant drop in my ADSL connection speed from 8th January 2011. I have contacted SLT customer service regarding this matter on more than seven occasions. Still they are unable to solve my problem and they most of the time avoid my calls.

I was told by a supervisor at SLT that the TRC has requested to Block heavy downloading users, but still no confirmations was given whether I was a heavy downloader or not, and what is their cutoff point in branding their customers as heavy downloading users. SLT has all my contact information and it’s their responsibility inform the customer if the policies has changed.

I’m using a 1Mb connection –unlimited (Xcite) for which I pay LKR 2900+Vat. In your website there is nothing mentioned about a FUP, and your Sales representative denies it even for the moment.

Anyone who’s getting a 1Mb unlimited connection is expecting to use the line to its full capacity, if as SLT says it will slow others users connection, then it shouldn’t be blame on me. They are the people who advertized the unlimited connection, and now because they expect to increase their customer base without improving their Technological aspects, I have to suffer

Also customer care suggested me to move to a 1Mb limited package, as they are not monitored and I can download as much as I need by paying extra. This is a really hilarious suggestion, like then it will not slow down other users.

Yes Macho exactly, do you believe that I cant even download from fileserver premium account, only gmail and EK loads in my connection, I cant even download a ppt
and I pay more than 3000 a month
