phone eke value eka aduwen kiyapan. netnam ambaneka tax wadi. used ekak kiyala kiapan. as per my experience u have to write a letter calming the value of the phone. once i got a nokia 1110 from Australia . it was a gift i won from a radio competition. they has posted the phone. and i got a letter saying i have to get approval and pay tax to get the phone.

1. went to post office and met the custom officer. they opened the box and gave me the catalog. (need it to get the approval from TRC ) then they sealed the box and kept it with them.

2. went early in the morning to TRC and hand over the doc and got the approval ( u have to stay sometime there.. so go early)

3. came to the office ( i can remember the name) its in front of Cargils building at fort.
busy place with old workers at office. they needed the letter calming the value of the phone ( at that time nokia 1110 was around RS7000 . i have put RS3500)

4 then u have to pay a tax there and obtain a document

5. came back to post office and hand over the doc and settled the TAX. it was the final TAx and it calculate depending the value of the item.

Well finally it took whole Day and cost me around 3000 rupees.

dont know the ruls and regulations changed now . my experience was about +5 years ago.
