New Assassin's Creed III Patch Has Over 100 Fixes

    ac3pc610.jpg

Assassin's Creed III can be a bit...buggy from time to time. Ubisoft has thankfully recognized this and is releasing a new patch at the end of next week that offers many, many fixes. The entire list of patch notes includes over 100 fixes total.

Note: the patch notes contain some spoilers.

    - Fixed possible mission break if the player shoots the horse he's supposed to ride.
    - Players could be stuck in the opera if they backtracked in a certain way after killing the target.
    - Fixed a bug where the guard you're supposed to kill would not reappear if the player starts fighting him and then runs away.
    - Fixed the issue where the bear could flee and eventually freeze.

Black Ops 2 Sells $500 Million In First Day

    img5051_010ybwx.jpg

Activision has announced that its Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has earned the company more than $500 million worldwide in the first 24 hours the game was made available. According to the company, that makes it the biggest entertainment launch of the year.

"With first day sales of over half a billion dollars worldwide, we believe Call of Duty is the biggest entertainment launch of the year for the fourth year in a row," said Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard's CEO. "Life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise have exceeded worldwide theatrical box office receipts for "Harry Potter" and "Star Wars," the two most successful movie franchises of all time. Given the challenged macro-economic environment, we remain cautious about the balance of 2012 and 2013."

The game was released on November 13, and there's no doubt that it will continue to sell like mad during the holiday season. That's great news for multiplayer fans, who won't have to wait long to find other players eager to take them on.

Halo 4 was released a week earlier, and it sold through more than $220 million in its first 24 hours. Considering it's only available on the Xbox 360, as opposed to Call of Duty's multiplatform approach, that's not too shabby either.

Michael Jackson tune trouble halts GTA: Vice City PC sales

Digital sales of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City have been halted due to a music licensing dispute. The game is no longer on Steam, for example.

GTA developer Rockstar confirmed the move in a post on the Steam forum."Due to some music licensing issues, we've had to temporarily remove Vice City PC from digital stores," a Rockstar spokesperson said. "We'll make it available again as soon as possible."Those who have already downloaded the game from Steam are able to re-download it, however.

Rockstar did not confirm which track was causing the headache, but Cinema Blend has word it is Michael Jackson's Wanna be Startin' Something', which plays on Vice City's Fever 105 station. Sony Music Entertainment and its subsidiary Warner Chappell reportedly blocked the content on copyright grounds. The trouble comes ahead of Rockstar's upcoming iOS and Android re-release of Vice City, due later this year.
