In the long run this will be vital...

This is from my experience, I have a Xperia T from 2015 and it's still getting custom rom updates,
because that phone powered by one of the most popular snapdragon chipset.

If we look about Xiaomi Devices,
Redmi Note 4 Mediatek edition, It realesed under Android 6.0 and it stays there. & very few custom roms to change between.

In other hand Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon version received one android version update, & large number of custom roms to change between.
It's receiving Android 10 beta custom roms these days.

And the Google camera Port, it works best on the Snapdragon devices

im using note 8 pro for 3weeks nw fully satisfied

At-last I'm happy for you, But this is my opinion about mediatek, Don't take personal.
