ඔව් ඉන්නේ චිත්රේ ඇදපු මරියන් නොර්ත්. ඔය පින්තුරේ අරන් තියෙන්නේ ජුලියා මාගරට් කියන කෙනා. ජුලියා මාගරට් ඉස්සර ලෝකේ ගොඩක් ප්රසිද්ද චායාරුප ගත්තු කෙනෙක්. උඹලට ඔය ජුලියා මාගරට් ගේ කළුතර ගෙදර තිබ්බේ කොහෙද කියල හොයා ගත්ත නම් ලේසියි.
තවත් ඔය හරියෙම ඉඳන් ඇදපු තව චිත්රයක් ඇති. මම එකත් හොයල දාන්නම්.

මේ මෙහායින් පේන පාලම මැද ඩෙල්ටාවෙන් යන්නෙ නැතුව ගොඩක් මෙහායින් තියෙන ගතියක් පේන්නෙ. ඉස්සරම බඩු ප්රවාහනය කරල තියෙන්නෙ පාලම් පාරුවකින් කියල කියන්නෙ. ගගේ දෙපැත්තෙම තොටුපොල කියල කියන තැන් දෙකක් තාම තියෙනව. මේක සමහර විට ඒජට සම්බන්ද මොකක් හරිද දන්නෙ නෑ.

මෙන්න තුප්පහිගේ බ්ලොග් එකේ ජූලියාගේ කළුතර ගෙදර ගැන විස්තරේ. මේ තුප්පහි නම් ෂුවර් එකට දන්න්ව්ව ඇති මේ තැන් ඔක්කොම.

" Their son, Hardinge, the Governor’s private secretary, owned a bungalow on the river at Kalutara, on the western coast. Julia and Charles divided their time in Ceylon between Kalutara and their plantations in the hill country. Julia soon fell under Ceylon’s spell, writing that “the glorious beauty of the scenery — the primitive simplicity of the inhabitants and the charms of the climate all make me love Ceylon more and more”.
When the botanical painter Marianne North visited the Camerons at Kalutara, Julia went into a “fever of excitement” at having found a European subject. She dressed North up “in flowing draperies of cashmere wool” (despite the intense heat), with “spiky coconut branches running into [her] head” to be photographed. A remarkable photo taken by Julia shows North standing at her easel on the spacious verandah of the Kalutara house, with a bare-bodied “native” holding a clay pot over his shoulder.
Julia must have been busy during this period, because North noted that “the walls of the room were covered with magnificent photographs; others were tumbling about the tables, chairs, and floors”. But, only about 30 photographs from Julia’s Ceylon period have survived. The architect Ismeth Raheem, who has conducted extensive research on Julia, has stated that some photographs given to the Colombo Museum appear to be lost. No surprise there"

අනික බන් රිච්මන්ඩ් කාසල් එක හදලා තියෙන්නේ 1900-1910 අතර. 1877 කොහෙද බන් රිච්මන්ඩ් කාසල් එකක්.

මූ මේ පැනොරාමා එක තිබ්බ හරියේ තමා ගෙදර තියෙන්න ඇති කියල නේද හිතන්නේ?
Ready to call it a day, we stopped at a hotel alongside the river, the Panorama, a place that appeared upscale enough for us to use the facilities. I wandered down to the river, and there, across from the hotel, I spotted a piece of land jutting out from the shore, and more than any other vista, it seemed to match North’s description. This land, with no house visible, appeared to be the only land that intruded beyond the banks. The land stood almost directly below the bridge we’d crossed from the center of town, which would have made it difficult to spot. I photographed the location from the hotel, and when we crossed the bridge leading back to the main section of town, we saw that area now housed a large parking lot for the Buddhist temple. Again, in my research back home, I found a reproduction of North’s painting of the Cameron’s verandah, and the angle of the river seemed to indicate the house stood on the South side of the river, as shown here.

It was opened for road traffic in August 1877 along with a single line of rails in the middle. It was 450ft in length overall. This earliest bridge carried both the road and rail traffic. With heavier and more modern engines and rolling stock coming into use, they also built a bridge parallel to the old bridge and it was given entirely to the road traffic. This new bridge was completed around 1910.
