You can drive in any car.... Then should hire a double cab from there to watch the waterfalls. We agreed Rs13,000 for a vehicle, the driver/guide stayed with us from early morning till late evening and took us everywhere. Some climbs are difficult for the ladies and this guy helped them often to give a hand. I paid hiim more than the promised amount. This was in May 2024.

Booked the entire upper villa for our group. The lady who runs is very helpful and provided whatever food and bites we asked for without hesitation. We had a nice time and a very comfortable stay.
They also have several cabanas by the stream which are cheaper and accommodates large groups.
The previous night we stayed in a place just about 20km from Mandaram nuwara. Very beautiful but i forget the name.
It;s worth a visit. Nature.
