    What's this mean?
    https://www.google.com/search?q=what+happens+if+kids+don't+eat+for+long+time+and+hold+bowels+for+long+times+during+school+times&ie=UTF-8

We don't need prolonged school times coz we are not impacted by seasons. There is 0 reason for doing this unless you really don't want to take care of your child. What would a unmarried no children having old hag know about that.

    https://www.waldenu.edu/online-doct...ource/the-pros-and-cons-to-longer-school-days

    https://education.seattlepi.com/disadvantages-longer-school-days-1489.html

Schools don't have facilities to see this through. A practical person who really had an idea about SL school system wouldn't even think of doing these unnecessary reforms just out of the blue. In europeans countries families are a bit distant away from their old family members meaning children don't get to see their grand parents often unlike us. But in Asia, even in southern parts of USA, this is rarely the case.
So kids don't HAVE to be at school from 8 to 4.30 like it's a job. They are usually taken care of when they come home. It just shows that people like Harini are doing these nonsense to add to her portfolio. Sri Lankan schools are wayyy over crowded for this. Unless you resolve the underlying facility and crowding problem these reforms are ridiculous even to consider. Harini is picking these things from EU like a brain rotten buffoon. Let kids be kids. Why do you want to ruin their lives just because you don't have original and practical ideas that suits this country? She couldn't get the most simplest things done before. Now she wants to make major reforms to the education system adopting systems from countries that are culturally and financially far different from us? If she wants to live in EU why doesn't she go there really? If she is concerened about tutition why doesn't she stop 'that' instead of imprisoning kids to school walls? I have a kid who will be going to school in a couple of years. I wouldn't even dream to put him through these retard's nonsense. Kids needs to come home after their limited attention span, refresh, socialize with family members, go out, play with neighbor kids, relax! Not doing a 9-5 job and coming home for dinner all stressed out like a slave.
If this bitch tries to do this I will be one of the protestors. I won't even vote for Anura in the next election for sure. Even with set backs he does a way better job than this stupid bitch.
It's not our problem that she has no idea what a married life and having kids is all about.

Lakmali & Harini will be the end of Anura.

It's possible that lengthening the school hours, would have a negative impact on the decades old private tuition business, which is good in my opinion

In Aus, the private tution industry is there but in a less rigorous and friendly manner

If kids don't have time for private tution, there may not be that harmful competition to become the best of the best in school exam results

This idea may not be a sole concept of the PM. We all know that, when SL signs up for foreign aid, those forces, have their input exercised

If you watched western high school movies, the lunch time runs for around 30 - 60 mts, which is quite a relaxing time for the kids to catchup - when we were doing A/Ls, we would eat our lunches, in a hurry, in the classroom itself, before the school ends and once it's over dash for those private tution classes

Furthermore, Gym sessions in Australian schools are part of the mandated physical education curriculum, aiming to meet the guideline of 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week for students in Years K-10 (Kindergarten to 10th grade)

At 3.30 pm, the sun is still shining but is setting, which is ideal for afterschool sports - those Elakiriyans, who did an organised team sport know the value it brings, at the workplace. Through the AusPlay survey, parents/guardians reported data on 3,855 children in NSW, of which 2,999 (78%) children participated in at least one organised sport or physical activity outside of school hours in the past 12 months

In Aus, after 3.30 pm, lots of kids would still hang around for a while, at shopping centres etc., and then relaxly go home - more like those kids at International schools in SL, whom I found are more versatile in life, than their counterparts

So in essence, a child spends most of the day time, in a productive and relaxed manner, than being in a mad rush to purely excel in the syllabus

Also reducing the school grades from 13 to 12, where a kid finishes the secondary school at 18, just like in the West is a good idea

In where I live, kids approaching 16 is more likely to be interested in cool stuff like obtaining their Learner's permit - when I got my Driver's licence, I was 22..!

In here kids also get to learn vocational qualifications like Welding etc., while at school, which opens pathways to TAFE

    Happy childhood = happy adulthood
