It's blindingly obvious to anyone except those who willfully refuse to see this. Ranil Wickremesinghe and the United National Party (UNP) are American assets. They work for the interests of the USA - not Sri Lanka. Consider this:
— The USA embassy in Colombo was given a massive area of land to expand next to its pre-existing premises. Photos even show underground constructions. The UNP approved this land transfer.
— The UNP co-sponsored multiple anti-Sri Lankan resolutions at the United Nations that were initiated by the USA. Mangala Samaraweera openly defends these anti-Sri Lankan resolutions - he claims they are in Sri Lanka's interests!
— Last time he was in power, Ranil allowed Sri Lankan airports to be used for secret rendition flights where suspected terrorists were transported to third countries by the USA and tortured. This came to light through wikileaks.
— The UNP allows the USA to help draft the new constitution they want to introduce to Sri Lanka. A foreign country involved in an absolutely sovereign issue.
— The UNP approves the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant - an institution with links to the CIA and the US government.
— Ranil and the UNP were and are vehemently anti-Chinese, openly attacking their investment projects in Sri Lanka.
— Secret American origin planes are spotted at Katunayake airport around the Easter Sunday terror attacks and weeks after
— The killing of ISIS leader Baghdadi evoked immediate public praise from Ranil when he ridiculed our own armed forces and the political leadership that defeated the LTTE
— The UNP has destroyed Sri Lanka's economy, the stock market and the rupee - the economy is dependent on foreign aid and hand outs.
— The USA never criticizes the Sri Lankan government under the UNP
All of these are reasons not to give the United National Party your vote. Sajith Premadasa is the useful idiot they are using this time, just like they tried with Sarath Fonseka (unsuccessfully) and then Maithripala Sirisena (successfully).
