as sri lankans we've been buying vehicles from japan and india for a very long time. why cant our government make an agreement with japanese and indian companies to open their manufacturing plants here ? being a tiny island country sri lanka got a market of 20 million people. so dont say we dont enough people to attract foreign companies to make car manufacturing plants here. if that is your excuse why dont you make use of your geographical location , southern port , colombo port and your free trade agreement to export vehicles made in sri lanka to other countries ? why dont you manufacture vehicles with japanese collaboration and export it to other countries ? im wondering what stopped sri lanka doing this for such a long time ? we've been importing brand new and used vehicles from foreign countries for such a long time. imagine how much foreign exchange we could have saved ?
