Summary of Canada (lived more than 15 years now)

    (1) healthcare is free (actually health insurance)
    (2) Like other developed countries, effective tax is 40-50% (income+property+GST/PST) . This is applicable if you get a high salary as a professional
    (3) winter is cold and severe (can be -30,-40). Eight months of Winter like weather except BC and other coastal provinces
    (4) Living cost depends on cities and provinces (actually it is the apartment or home cost. everyday expenses are not that bad)

Vancouver, BC and Toronto,ON= super expensive
    Calgary, AB = ok

I would recommend Calgary, AB overall. It is nice place to live with a family (cold during winter but not bad as provinces like MB, SK). Quebec is French dominated province.

It depends. When you migrate, you get certain things. But at the same time, you loose certain things. Sometime when we were young (applicable to myself), we want to go out of sri lanka and have a good life. This is a natural feeling. But when you get bit older, you always look to enjoy life with family, with parents, with friends and also by travelling. We have only 3 months per year to enjoy outside.

If someone has a reasonable job + home (or inherent property from family or wife), it is always better to stay in Sri Lanka.

    Try Ausi instead.

It depends on person to person. With jackets you can. But if there is snow (six month), it is very dangerous (some use winter tires for bikes as well)

This can be true to some extent.

However, Ausi is not an option for this guy. I'm 99% sure of that. Because of various reasons.

Age, family with kids, no points for MSc s in cities etc...
