Don't think that i am trying to cheat here. I got these results today around 2 PM while not having any downloads. As you may aware, the internet peak time is normally 2-5PM in a working day. Can you do the test around 2 PM tomorow since now many of the office internet users are not using.

Now i get more than 400Kbps in ADSL




But here check my 4Mbps connection




Again , i am not trying to say SLT is bad. But SLT is not an extra ordinary performer!!!!

Don't think that i am trying to cheat here. I got these results today around 2 PM while not having any downloads. As you may aware, the internet peak time is normally 2-5PM in a working day. Can you do the test around 2 PM tomorow since now many of the office internet users are not using.

Now i get more than 400Kbps in ADSL




But here check my 4Mbps connection




Again , i am not trying to say SLT is bad. But SLT is not an extra ordinary performer!!!!

ok remind us at anytime we will do it. can you tell us Dialog international bandwidth? i would like to know it!

Why are you taking serious!!
Ping and traceroute are the most useful and powerful tools used by ISPs and Netadmins. Let's do some speed test during an office peak hour. I am ready to show the test in a video ( If anyone suggest me a method to show my desktop)

Hey Man,
I am not an HSPA user. ADSL is little simillar with Wimax - comparing the last mile access network technology. ( WimaX is called Wireless ADSL) . But HSPA is totally different since it shares the mobile network and coverage.

We need to compare orange with orange and Apple with Apple.
Dialog HSPA may have issues. That is not the topic that i am trying to discuss. If i have Dialog and Mobitel HSPAs i will definiely do so.

International backbones of Main ISp's in sri lanka

Currentley SLT has 3.2 Gbps international backbone.

That's why we have an excellent speed from a SLT connection.

Lankacom support to 300 Mbps international backbone.

I heard dialog has 1round 150 Mbps International backbone.

i agree, bcoz there is no ISP can offer a speed like SLT, and i really recommend SLT, it works fine, i have no problem with it, iam using a 512Kbps package, it helps me a lot and enough for me, iam a web designer and 3D modeler so internet is very useful and essential for me, so i think SLT is really good,

Some SLT Speed Test results ( Poor performance)

Were you able to check the throughput and latency today during the peak time?

Here i am attaching the yesterday's traceroute ( MTR result) to show that the latency and the packet loss is not due to an "heavy download" during this time

It is clear that in my trace( see the attached snapshot) i don't see any packet drops or delays inside the SLT network ( First 4 hops in the trace).
If my ADSL connection is fully loaded with heavy download, i would have observed loss and latency in the very first hop of SLT / any hops inside SLT.

But, Packet loss and latency occured in the SLT's international path ( in this case Deutsche Telecom - circled in red colour).

If you don't believe me, better ask anyone from SLT ISP whether they have congestion in their international links.

I am very much sure about this. I was keenly exepcting a test results from Rukshan / Sandun today.
