Yep. Customer service in Keels is way better. Also, their buildings are well-lit. I feel cargills stores are gloomy. Maybe its the color.

The Keells 's color (light green) is eye catching.

Agreed about purchase price about Odel. They paid around 30/40% more than it's actual value. However they make it just another clothing shop. It used to be more upmarket premium shop with good quality clothes. They completely missed the point and lost the brand value.
Glowmark also tried to be another upmarket supermarket chain but there's nothing premium about it. Also just like Odel they opened to many stores too fast. Also Glowmark is loss making business as I heard from inside source.
Thanx to Mahinda, they acquire so many good projects from ceylinco group but they lack any serious strategies about how to manage them or make them profitable. Too much too soon.
There only profitable business is Hospitals and insurance sector.

SPAR (Europe) and IGA (America/Australia) are cooperative societies, similar to "samupakaraya" in Sri Lanka.
Anyone can join the society as long as they meet the requirements. I suppose Salinda guy has found out and has managed to join it.
These are actually low-end brands in those countries (similar to McDonalds) but high class in SL .
