IMF was in SL till MR asked them to leave in 2005, but again he got biggest IMF loan when Cabral was at CBSL in 2009 over 1.6 billion and we paid it fully!!
So this objection to IMF by Wimal, Vasu , Gampila, ( also AKD , Tilvin ) are all false Where were they in 2009 ??

IMF doe snot grant loans like WB(IBRD) it is an institution that will fund Macro Econ for currency stability. So there is no question of IMF funds being used by corruption . But fund can be mismanaged eg being used for artificial Rupee stability (we lost more than ! billion USD to artificially stabilize Rupee through bad decisions of GR, MR, Wimal, Gampila, Vasu...)
IMF will always have clauses to prevent such misuse and they will monitor their funds being used properly.
So in short there is no possibility of IMF funds being used for projects such as Mattala, Hambantota, Pohottuwa etc. So the question raised in this forum will not arise.
Next issue is IMF no longer attaches conditions, but we need to submit our plan for repayment of the money they give! This is what every bank wants!! So SL govt needs to show how they are going to pay the loan. Not false promises like what they say to people!! That is the bitter pill govt has to swallow !!
