Its a good car. Axela/Mazda 3, Lancer EX, Civic are 3 i recomend for a young guy within 3.0- 4.0 range. Remember Mazda 3 and Axela has stiff suspensions which is better in handling and little bit less comfortable compared to other cars in the same league![]()

parts podak ganan ban
That's a fake idea that Toyota user create on Honda and Mazda.
Parts are a bit expensive than toyota or nissan,

But for Honda's and Mazda's you rarely need parts. Because they don't get running repairs often like toyota or nissan.

Explain me the difference between "පොඩ්ඩක් ගනන්" & "bit expensive" ?
You mean, Parked Honda & Mazda Vs Running Toyota & Nissan s right?

There's a grain of truth in this statement - contrary to popular belief it costs less than a Toyota to maintain other brands IF you stick to genuine parts and to the authorized agent for the maintenance of the vehicle.
Toyota authorized agent in SL is the most expensive entity when it comes to service charges and parts replacement.
However, reconditioned spares availability for Toyotas is higher than other brands - so are the fake replica consumables disguised as "Genuine Toyota". Search ikman.lk for Toyota filter sets - you'll find "GENUINE" air, cabin and oil filter packages for dirt cheap but in reality, they are NOT genuine but fake Chinese products.
Genuine parts last longer than reconditioned parts or Chinese replicas, obviously.
Here comes another toyota guy
If you have used both you will know...

This is completely true and adding to that, most of the toyota we consider are basic compact sedans. If you take famous Premio/Allion although its around 8 million, it has a simple suspension and a normal 1.5 or 1.8 engine. You can't compare that with Nissan Cefiro/Teana which are mid size sedans with complex suspensions and powerful engines. To match that league we have to consider Toyota cars like Camry which are difficult to maintain.

First off, any brand and any model without genuine parts cannot considered as reliable as they were.
And Toyota Lanka keep their high prices, simply because they can. That's the demand for the brand name Toyota in SL.
but that's nothing to do with reliability!
Well you see, people who keep using cheaper knockoff consumables off Ikman (or some other joint) and visit 3rd party garages for their routine maintenance are the people who think that maintaining a Toyota is relatively cheaper compared to a Mazda...
So the "parts poddak ganan" claim is invalid if you want the Toyota to have the same reliability of a Mazda that is being maintained by the agent and is using genuine parts.
Conclusion: Both of them costs more or less the same to maintain.
Yep.
But if someone claims that as "Parts poddak ganan" he should be out of his mind. I mean come on! there's hell lot of a price difference between agent maintained and outside maintained.
In every brand only a smaller percentage goes to the agents. Rest do their maintenance outside. So if someone wanna comparison he should do it like wise.
While we're on the topic of agent maintenance, I saw a post on facebook aqua group that claims Toyota Lanka is using consumables sourced from China (not knock-offs but doesn't have the same quality of Japanese-made ones) poster had cut open a Chinese made oil filter sold at Toyota Lanka and a Japanese made VIC one - there was a clear difference between them, the Japanese made VIC one looked well-made compared to the Chinese Toyota one.
I don't Know about that. But it could be.
It is just a company surviving using the Toyota's good name
I've also heard Ceylinco insurance either Stopped paying or reduced the number of years (since YOM) for accident repairs from TL because of the ridicules final bills.
