if you like the Sri lankan culture, maybe you can come to Sri Lanka for about 6 months to stay. Then you may decide where to live.

this is only i am thinking machan. because I feel relationship between kids and parents in these country is not like in sri lanka. when kids growing up they are very likely to go away from parents. most of sri lankans here let there kids to forget sinhala and our culture, most, think that is something to be proud of.

I always feel alone here even though we have many friends and though many says there is a good lifestyle here it is not our lifestyle like going temple every poyaday, having vesak awurudu and things like that.

If you re living in NZ you shall adhere to NZ culture. If not that will be a problem like muslims in Sri lanka(who can't adhere to SL culture & they think that they live in Arab). Anyway SL is not a good country to live. Even if you feel boring, your children might not have the same feeling.

What's the SriLankan culture he harps about. That doesn't exist in Srilanka anymore. Speaking in Sinhalese is not SriLankan culture. My offspring born outside SL speak fluent Sinhalese and can read. They spend more than a month each year with grand parents and cousins in SL. That's what matters.

sri lanka is a beautiful country badly managed by politicians. even though you like sri lankan culture i dont think your children will have a good future in sri lanka. rupee is falling against dollar and inflation rising sky high. why do you want to contribute your hard earned money to corrupt politicians who keep wasting your countries money and asserts ? i am not sure whether they will leave a good future for your children. majority of sri lankans vote for actors , sportsmen , models , singers , gangsters , etc. they only think about their personal benefits when it comes to voting. they will vote for any politician if the politician guarantees them a salary hike or a good occupation. do you really think your choice will succeed when you're surrounded by people with this kind of mentality ? look at the status of sri lankan passport. sri lankan passport is one of the worst passports in the world. your children will lose their travel freedom having a hard time in this open air prison island. imagine your children waiting for visa in embassies. they will be asked to show their asserts , bank balance , sponsor , etc just to get a vist visa for their holiday. they will be interviewed as well. who the hell wants to sit for an interview to get a visit visa ? try asking your friends in the western world whether they like to get interviewed to get a visit visa ? sri lanka is running out of sweat shop factory workers and women who wash plates in the middle east. what kind of pride we have being a sri lankan when our women clean toilets in the middle east. they're doing a hard work to keep this country running. we should actually protect them instead of sending them abroad for forigen exchange
