At last GCE A/L results today
The long-delayed results of GCE Advanced Level Examination will be released today, the Department of Examinations announced. The results will be available on the Examinations Department website this afternoon.
Principals of Colombo and Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte schools will be able to collect the result sheets from the Examinations Department in Battaramulla today from10. a.m. while result sheets will be posted to outstation schools.
The results, which were due to be released in the second week of December were delayed due to some confusion in finalizing the Z-score university entrance points system as the August examination was conducted on the basis of two syllabuses.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa held an urgent meeting yesterday with Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Attorney General Eva Wanasundara and Examinations Chief Anura Edirisinghe at Temple Trees following which the decision was taken to release the results today.
The committee report on how to resolve the Z-score confusion was approved by the Attorney General yesterday.
