Machan I did CIMA a long time ago..So I cant remember the exact areas of the syllabus what you are asking..But with some common sense you can easily answer the question..

Basically there are two parts in this question
1. Describe the main issues (say 5 marks)
2. The stages involved in developing an HR plan (say 5 marks)

1. You will have to read the scenario thoroughly to identify the current weaknesses and issues in CX. As you read just make some short notes on the question paper..Since there are 5 marks allocated to the sub question you will have to find 5 weaknesses..You must write each weakness in a new paragraph..This will make the markers life easy..(one paragraph might contains 2 sentences). So now you grabbed 5 marks.

2. The stages in developing the HR plan.
i. Identify the current HR needs and other bottlenecks that the company is experiencing
ii. Implement a culture with good HR practices
iii. Recruit well qualified and well experienced staff to fill those gaps
iv. Give them a good induction, training and development
v. Implement a sound performance appraisal system..

You must relate all these 5 ideas to the scenario..No marks if you just write these..(the above 5 points might be different to what you have learnt)

Remember always one idea worth only one mark..

So practicing exam questions is the key here.I advice you to buy/photocopy CIMA exam practice KIT and do all the questions..read the answers and learn how they have been written and their structure..
(if you can do all the questions in the Exam practice KIT alone, I guarantee you a comfortable pass)

This is really wrong. you must study the official study text. And you should attempt the questions in the exam practice kit...(If you have prior knowledge{say you are a university student} you might skip the official study text. But why take a risk?)

and in the most recentexamination (NOV 2012) non of the kaplan predictions were there in the paper...so why wasting time on such a bulky book ..

ya its true that i finished CIMA a long time ago (not so long BTW) and have work experience to look at things from different angles..This is exactly what you need to develop my friend...So practicing questions is the key..(I dont mind you giving more preference to the exam practice kit than the study text,(if you think you need to develop knowledge study text is important too)

Have no idea from where to buy..why dont you go to the library and get a photocopy done of the latest?? (wont cost you more than 1000 bucks)

My answer is, buy study texts and exam practice kits for all the subjects provided you have time to refer those.

If you dont have time (if you are working full time) buy only the exam practice kits and do all the questions while you are studying your course notes given by the institute.

I'm a full time student so i have enough time the thing that i don't have is motivation lol Definitely i'm going to buy study texts for EO but for PO and FO i have to think twice about it. Thanks for your input senior I really appreciate it.
