    1. මචන් ac දාගෙන ෆුල් charge එකෙන් කොච්චාර දුර යන්න පුලුවන්ද?
Range depends on road/running condition, speed etc.
    2. charge එකට පට්ට current එකක් යයිද?
25kw battery. So ~25KWH (25 units) per charge

    EV, Hybrid, PHEV

    1. From 2013 or newest models, it does about 224km on one charge. but With AC and other conditions, it would be 160-180 in Sri Lanka.
    2. If you run about 1500KM/month your electricity bill will be 10000.00. So if you run same KMs with a regular vehicle it will be close to 17550.00(1500KM/10KM/L x 117LKR/L). So you'll save about 7500 LKR/month. That will be close to 1lks. So if you run it for 5 years, you'll be saving about 5lks.

Point : Is it worth to buy a vehicle which can only be use to travel inside city limits for 5lks worth of saving in 5 years. Its up to you to decide :)

It depends on the amount of units you are already using with that house hold electricity connection. So 10,000 may be true for an already very high usage connection. If you can get a separate connection then it will not even cost Rs 500-1000 for the whole month.

And No engine oil + oil filter + fuel filter + belts and any expensive monthly maintenance costs like normal vehicles.

For the record, To run 1500KM, you have to charge at least 8 times in a month. So thats 200 Units in a month. Even if you have a separate connection it will be close to 5000 LKR/month. Plus you have to keep another vehicle for long distance travels. So you'll at least need 4.5 million to get both. Even if you buy an Alto as a second vehicle. My advice is, go for a plugged in hybrid if you have 4.5mil. If not, its best to get a petrol vehicle for the money you HAVE.

Someone i know getting Rs. 500-1000 power bill for his daily driving to office. May be he is not using 1500km but even if you calculate for 1000km under new power calculation system from CEB it will be around Rs 2000 per month.
And remember normal car service will cost around Rs. 7500 with engine oil and filters. So there is a big saving from that.
200Km per charge is not city limit driving you can go to colombo - matara with that. And you can charge over night/quick charge there.
If you are so unsure you can rent a vehicle for only that special day with over 200Kms trip, no need to invest on another vehicle.

Plugin hybrids have lot more costs (base investment + running) and you have to service them like normal vehicles too, so no saving from there. So the only option is to drive something cheap like a maruti which gives around 17kmpl.

The main concern is that the vehicle takes a long time to charge.

It's not like charging a phone.

My friend has one, 2013 Leaf and she says it runs between 90-120 Max per charge, even if its claimed to do 180KM.

She says she has to charge it for 8-10 Hours to get it fully charged, and she runs about 30Km a day, every 3-4 days she has to charge it which she says is a hassle, the main thing for her is that she cannot go long distances and has a constant eye on the energy meter, it's not like you can charge a car in the middle of the road.

You have a good point. From the monthly service we can save like 7000.00.
My friend said that it is using 13 units per charge.

But my actual problem is, can anyone tel me exactly how long i can drive with AC under normal pickup? This answer should be given by someone who the knows car privately.
