Two families (me and my friend) went to KUL in last may (2016). We stayed there for 3 nights. Our hotel was "My Hotel" Bukit bingtang. It was very close to famous shopping malls such as (low yat plaza, and berjaya times square etc. ) We traveled using Malindo (at that time malindo was cheap and it gives you 30kg baggage)

    1st DAY
Arrived to malaysia airport terminal 1 by 9AM in malaysian time. We did stupid thing by purchasing kul express train tickets to travel to Kualalampur city. Please dont buy train tickets because for that we spent around RS 10000 for 4 people. But you can get a Uber or taxi for half of the price. Also again from the KUL station to hotel we have to get uber, so traveling by train was the stupidest thing we have done.

Uber is very active in KUL city we used uber to travel until end of the tour.

After coming to the hotel staff was generous enough to allow us early check in ( we also arranged late checkout by paying additional 50RM since our departure flight was scheduled on 10PM in 4 days. Reason is if we checkout on normal time which is 2PM we have to wonder around till 10PM without doing nothing.)

After checkin in we took breakfast from a near by subway to the hotel and came back and had a little nap. Then in the afternoon we went to berjaya times square and did shopping for the whole evening, had dinner there and came back to hotel.

    Day 2.
We started the day with visiting Batu Caves. We took an Uber to batu caves and then spend a good two hours there. And after we again took an Uber to butterfly garden. But the butterfly garden has nothing impressive to see so i am not recommending that place. Then we took an Uber to MyDin which is a department store like "Wallmart " (or kellse supper in srilanka but very large.) We bought chocolates and other food stuff from MyDin to bring back to Sri lanka. Some items are very cheap (but not as much as Mustafa Center in Singapore if you have visited there). Then we returned to Hotel and had a little nap.

In the afternoon we went again to Low Yat plaza which is walking distance from the hotel, and then got an Uber to Kualalampu City Center, where the twin tower and stuff is. But here I want to emphasize that you better go there around 4PM because when we go there the Suriya shopping center which is beside the twin tower was about to close and aquarium will be closed too. But to enjoy the real beauty of twin tower you should go by evening as well. So if you go there you better arrive around 4PM, go to aquarium and suriya shopping center then go to twin tower.

When we are going back we walk through the "Pedestrian walkway" which is fully air conditioned passage run through KLCC to bukit bingtang, where you can walk over the city safely.

    Day 3
Since we missed the aquarium and we again went to city center and spend half of the day watching aquarium and shopping mall. In the 2nd half of the day we went to Kasthuri Walk and China town which are famous for cheap shopping items. There is a large MyDin department store nearby china town you should visit there too if you want to buy food, chocolate and electronic stuff.

    Day 4
Our flight was scheduled around 10PM and we arrange late checkout from hotel so we can stay at hotel till 6PM and not miss the flight. So we kept the last day to visit famous sunway lagoon and spend the whole day there. We were able to arrange the transport and sunway lagoon tickets from the hotel it cost around Rs 5000 per person (ticket + one way trasport).

From the hotel we took a taxi to airport since we could not find a Uber XL at that time.

So i specially mentioned Uber here because for all the traveling we did within the city we used Uber, and guess what it only cost me less than Rs 5000/= for all the ubers i took (divided by within two families, so each 2500 only). This was a key point because if you took a taxi in malaysia they are worst than 3 Wheeler drivers in Sri Lanka. Dont use a taxi without Meter in Malaysia because you have to argue lot to make the transport cheap. Even there you wont be able to match the price with taking Uber.

Also at the time we were there Genting Highland Out door is under construnction. Genting Highland is a place where you can ride a cable car to the land, and it is like sentosa in singapore as of what we heard of. But since cable car is closed and place is under construction we decided not to visit there, but if you go KUL you must check whether Gengint Highland is open.

Have a safe journey and fun.

Two families (me and my friend) wen...

Machan don't get me wrong but you could have done for a lot cheaper.
Monorail + LRT KJ line serves pretty much every place in the golden triangle. Then there are two free bus lines. I don't plan to stay in KL longer, but sometimes have to stay 2-3 days for transits. There is an airport bus for RM 10, and monorail tickets never go beyond 3-4 RM for even the longest journeys. For Batu caves, there is KTM. You can even go to Sunway lagoon if you know your way around. Batu caves is right next to the KTM station. Sunway lagoon is KTM + a short bus ride away.

Uber is cheap, but don't waste money when there are decent public transport options.

Yeah machan their transportation system is good (not convenient as Singapore though)
I started to use Uber because when i saw the map to batu caves it has a few miles to walk from the LRT there, so it felt me like use Uber to go straight to Batu caves was good. Then with their polite drivers i was hang on to Uber.

Uber drivers in malaysia do this as part time and very friendly. They gave us good tips and instructions where to visit, what are time to avoid road due to traffic, where to buy cheap items etc.

On the other hand Taxi service in Malaysia is a money scam. I have known this prior to the trip so i avoid using taxi there.:no:

Guess what i was cost less than Rs 5000 for all the ubers i Used. and I feel like it is pretty much cheap than using LRT and then walk :)
