මචන්ලා Windows 7 දානකොට මේ අමතර එන 100Mb Partition එක Delete කොලොත් අවුල් යයිද ?

කලින් Hdd දෙකක් හයි කරලා Windows/Linux දාගෙන හිටියේ අද Linux දාගෙන හිටිය Hdd එක ගියා.

දැන් එක Hdd එකට OS දෙකම දාන්න යන්නේ Linux දානකොට Partition දෙකක් කඩන්න ඕනේ
/ එකයි
swap එකට එකයි

එත් උපරිම හදන්න දෙන්නේ Partition 4

D Partition එකේ මගේ ෆයිල් තියෙන්නේ එක Delete කොලොත් ෆයිල් දාන්න තැනක් නෑ

Lubuntu 18.04 වලනම් දෙකම Logical හදන්න පුළුවන් එත් 20.04 එකේ දෙකම Primary දුන්නේ නැත්තම් Install වෙන්නේ නෑ

මේකට මොකද කරන්නේ ? තව Hdd එකක් හයි කරන්නම වෙයිද අයෙත් ?

මුලින් විඩොව්ස් ඉන්ස්ටොලර් එක බුට් කරලා System Reserved එකයි C එකයි රිමුව් කරගනින් මතක ඇතුව UEFI වලින් ලොඅඩ් කරපන්
පාර්ටිශන් මෙනු එකෙන් D එක විතරක් තියලා අනිත් පාර්ටිශන් දෙකම අයින් කරපන්
C එක ෆොර්මැට් කරලා වින්ඩොව්ස් අලුතෙන් දාගනින්
පස්සෙ ලුබුන්ටු දාපන් E එකට GPT නිසා උබටහ් අවුලක් වෙනහ් එකක් නැහ් SWAP එක ඔටො හදාගනින් හැදුනෙහ් නැත්තම් පස්සෙ උබට හදාගන්නහ් පුලුවන්

Don't delete that. MBR everything runs on that

That partition usually stores the Boot configuration - code & database. Also in Win 10 it stores the recovery environment.
Importantly it stores startup files and space for bitlocker - in which case better not to touch this.
If you want to really delete it, you can backup that partition and delete it. Should be possible with a partition manager.
Really the ideal way is to install windows without it in the first place.

The four partition limit came from the old MBR limitations. The partition table had 64 bytes reserved with 16 bytes per partition. So the limit was 4 primary partitions. At that time the developers never thought there will be more than 4 will be needed.
Later on a fix was done to stretch the limit by allowing THREE primary partitions and ONE extended partition which allowed additional 24 logical partitions WITHIN the extended partition. This effectively bypassed the 4 partition limit.

Without messing around probably you can convert the HDD to GPT and create more partitions. You can do this WITHOUT any data loss using software. I am not so sure whether the free versions do this though. So please check beforehand.
Also you need to make sure that your system supports the UEFI boot mode.

ඕක මකන්න එපා බන්. active මාක් වෙලා තියන පාටිෂන් එකෙන් තමයි OS එක හොයාගෙන බූට් කරගන්නෙ. ඒක මකල දානවනම් windows installation එක තියන පාටිෂන් එක active කරල boot records එහෙම තියන ඒවා copy කරගන්න ඕනෙ. නැතනම් boot repair tool එකෙන් repair කරගන්න ඕනෙ.

partition 4 ට වඩා කඩන්න පුලුවන්. 4 වෙනි එක extended partition එකක් විදියට හදන්න ඕනෙ. ඊට පස්සෙ ඒ extended partition එක logical drives විදියට ඉංග්‍රීසි හෝඩියේ අකුරු ගානට කඩාගන්න පුලුවන්.

Do not delete the partion because it has

Boot files
Recovery files
Encryption files(bit locker)

And much more important files to OS (astrick mark represents it). Use separate hard drive, at least if your hard disk have free Enough storage. (recomend more than or equal 500GB space)
