Universe from the Lord Buddha's eye
According to Lord Buddha’s teachings the universe is infinite in time and space. Infinite in space means length of the universe, width of the universe or number of solar systems (lokadhātu) in the universe are infinite. The portions which consist of one billion solar systems are called “Thri Sahashri Loka Datu” (trisāhasra-mahāsāhasra-lokadhātu or great trichiliocosm, roughly equals to the galaxy in science). The infinity of the universe has described by a fable in the Dhrama book as follows. If someone takes mustard seeds amount equal to the volume of Thri Sahashri Loka Datu and travel toward to a one direction with putting one seed on one solar system, seeds will finish but still there is no end. Universe is infinity vast but there is nothing which cannot be discoverable by Lord Buddha’s intelligence. By putting as far as possible or by covering anything will not be able to hide from Lord Buddha’s intelligence. For every subjects of this universe there is no diffidence to a Lord Buddha’s intelligence. How much he wants to know this much he will know. For other two enlightenment statuses (Pacceka-Bodhi/Pacceka-Buddha, Savaka-Bhodhi/Arhat) has limits. But Lord Buddha has no limits. So Lord Buddha’s intelligence called “Anavarana Knana(Un-coverable Intelligence)”.

Universe is Infinite in time means; there is no beginning date or ending date to the universe. Everything around us one day born and one day die. As Buddha’s teaching we cannot think about universe in the same way. How much we consider this much universe exist. But everything is changing always nothing permanent other than the Nirvana.

A collection of 1000 solar systems are called “Sahashri Loka Dhatu”(sāhasra-cūḍika-lokadhātu or small chiliocosm). A collection of 1000,000 solar systems are called “Divi Sahashri Loka Dhatu”( dvisāhasra-madhyama-lokadhātu, or medium dichiliocosm).

A monk who got higher state of Dhyāna by doing mediation, said to be able to talk to all of the animals in a Sahashri Loka Dhatu at once.

The Lord Buddha many times discourse Dharma (Ultimate truth of a subject) to gods and Brahmas who came from 10,000 solar systems.
Gods and Brahmas of 10,000 solar systems came to the Parinirvana of Lord Buddha.

Divi Sahashri Loka Dhatu Called "Jhati Kshetra" of Lord Buddha. When the conception of Lord Buddha, born of Lord Buddha, renunciation of household life, on attaining Buddha hood, at the Buddha's first discourse, taking the decision of leaving last body or at parinirvana it is said to be spread light to the whole Divi Sahashri Loka Dhatu.

Thri Sahashri Loka Dhatu Called "Akkna Kshetra" of Lord Buddha or domain of the Lord Buddha. Power of Buddhist Sutras like Atanatiya Sutta, Dhagagga Sutta, Ratana Sutta, .. Can be obtain over Thri Sahashri Loka Dhatu by using with practicing Sila(virtue described in buddshim).

The entire vast infinite universe is Lord Buddha’s “Vishaya Kshetra”. It mean Lord Buddha can talk or spread light to any living being who living in any place of the universe. In a Thri Sahashri Loka Dhatu it can only exist one Lord Buddhas at same time. But can be exist another Lord Buddhas over Thri Sahashri Loka Dhatu at once.

After solar system being made it will be stable for some time, after that it will be destroying and it will be made again. The time taken to one of this cycle is called “Maha Kalpa(great kalpa)”.
Maha Kalpa is divide in to four equal portions those are time of solar system formation ( Sanwatta Kalpa), time of existence( Sanwatta Sthayi Kalpa), time of destruction(Wiwatta kalpa) and time of emptiness(Wiwatta Sthayi Kalpa). Each one of these time interval is called as an “Asankya Kalpa”. So that one Maha Kalpa is equals to four Asankya Kalpa. One 64th of a Asankya Kalpa is called Antah Kalpa.

According to Lord Buddha the age of the mankind is not a constant (For Gods and Brahmas it is a constant). Since their spiritual degeneration there will be a time which age of mankind is just 10years. From this time they will grow spiritual, so again age of mankind will be increase till Asankya number of year. Asankya is a very large number.(it is some times called as a number which is one followed by 140 zeros.) The time period which take to grow the age of mankind form 10years to Asankya years and decrease the age of mankind from Asankya to 10 years is equals to one Antah Kalpa. When the solar system is being made the time takes to grow the earth by three Yojana and one Gawwa is also said to be equals to the one Antah Kalpa.

In a one Maha Kalpa, at maximum five Lord Budddhas can be exsist. Maha Kalpas which there is no Lord Budddhas are called “Shunya Kalpa”. Maha Kalpas which one, two, three, four and five Lord Buddhas come in to exist are in order to called as “Sara Kalpa”, “Manda Kalpa”, “Vara Kalpa”, “Saramanda Kalpa”, and “Badra Kalpa”. We are now in a Badra Kalpa which five Lord Buddhas come in to existence. Till now four Lord Buddhas came in to Exsistance who is Kakusanda Buddha, Konagama Buddha, Kashyapa Buddha and our Gauthama Buddha. Currently average age of mankind (life expectancy) is about 65years. Gradually this life expectancy will go down till 10 years then again life expectancy will increase till Asankya years after that it will decrease. When the life expectancy of mankind is 80,000years, Maithree Buddha will come to exits. All Lord Buddhas come in to exits; have same qualities with infinite intelligence, infinite power, infinite kindness etc. All Lord Buddhas discourse same Dharma which is ultimate four noble truths about cycle of rebirth (Saṃsāra) of all living beings. With their infinite intelligence they understand that this is the only way to get eternal happiness. They discourse this Dharma because of their kindness about suffering living beings. They don’t have any desires to distribute the Dharma.

Buddhism has no creator god to explain the origin of the universe. Instead, it teaches that everything depends on everything else: present events are caused by past events and become the cause of future events.

Indian religions often see space and time as cyclical, such that world-systems come into being, survive for a time, are destroyed and then are remade. In Buddhism this happens naturally without the intervention of gods.

One tale told by the Buddha in the Aggan̄n̄a Sutta describes the process of recreation on this grand scale. An old world-system has just been destroyed, and its inhabitants are reborn in a new system. To begin with they are spirits, floating happily above the earth, luminescent and without form, name or sex.

The world in these early stages is without light or land, only water. Eventually earth appears and the spirits come to taste and enjoy it. Their greed causes their ethereal bodies to become solid and coarse and differentiate into male and female, good-looking and ugly. As they lose their luminescence the sun and moon come into being.

Gradually the beings fall into further wicked habits, causing themselves - and the earth itself - to become less pleasant.

In this way, the Buddha seems to be saying, desire, greed and attachment not only cause suffering for people but also cause the world to be as it is.

The physical world as we know it, with all its imperfections and suffering, is the product of what the Buddha called dependent origination.

    Dependent origination

The Buddha taught that this was a 12-stage process - a circular chain, not a straight line. Each stage gives rise to the one directly after it.

    7. Sensation: the feelings we get from sense-impressions, which are so vivid that they blind us, represented by a man shot in the eye with an arrow

    8. Craving (tanhā): negative desires that can never be sated, represented by a man drinking
