Probably the only country you visited or else you visited Shanghai. It's Paradise when compared with the rest of China. I have travelled everywhere in the World except Russia, the two Koreas, Burma and a few countries in the Eastern Europe. Visited China twice on work related, spent nearly 27 days with the family touring China but I will never set foot in China except for a work related run.

There are towns in US with no access to clean water. Singapore has homeless people. Poverty exists everywhere. However there's no extreme poverty in China like in other countries. It's a fact.

You have never been to the parts that I have been in China... That's about it. But these areas were visited several years ago.
Yes you are correct, there are slum areas in many developed countries. Quite true.

I have even visited the Brazilian Favelas... many tourists would not even contemplate stepping in these areas. Our entire family visited and our driver guaranteed our safety. In fact we spent more than a hour, visited the pub inside, bought the guys a few drinks and had a nice time. Honestly we were warmly welcome. Probably no SriLankan ever visited them.
