Don't know. It's a myth among the followers of the lord of light.
Melisaandre speaks that at dragonstone and say Stannis is azor ahai reborn.

I don't know whether it has that much of an impact in the story.
But in the books there isn't much interest given to it other than when melisaandre talks about it.
I think that's just bullshit & melisaandre wants something & hides it. If it was that big of a deal then many red priests should've come to westeros.

Sannis died??
There are rumours that Stannis will play a huge role in the next book. I kind of like the bugger at some times. Except those times like killing his own brother & harsh decisions about trying to become the king.
If he came to kings landing before a shortly after robert's death then the story would've changed completely.
Stupid git stayed at dragonstone with the thoughts of revenge.
But he changed a bit after going to the wall
