It works with electric motor + Gasoline engine. If the hybrid battery is good and the electric motor is assisting, the performance is equivalent to that of a 1.5-1.6cc vehicle. Most of the people who complain are using vehicles with a weak of fully drained hybrid battery where the electric motor does not kick in as often.
Don't expect Aqual level fuel savings from this car though. It would do around 12kmpl city ( even 10 on heavy stop and go traffic), 13-14kmpl moderate traffic and 17-20kmpl long distance, 24kmpl highway.
If you are running city miles and short distances, get the FD4 (or FD1 if you like the 1.8cc performance) .
If you are running long distance or a lot of miles per month, get the FD3 but only after checking the hybrid battery condition.
Thanks for the explanation
