Has any one done a study why Unlimited BB is not viable in Sri Lanka?
As per a known TRC official They get the cost of the service and based on it only they approve Prices.

To my knowledge, Internet cost is a pipe based one. What ever the link you get say 200Mbps, it has a price. So the cost is only on the peak time usage. Who ever the operator, they have to develop the capacities for the Peak hour. Same thing applies to CEB as well. When Peak capacity is idling in the off peak, they give it at lower cost or free to keep customers.
Other issue is wireless Network, where wireless part of the network is other bottleneck. When one radio station is full they have to install another one. Usual cost of one is around 40-50,000 $

මේක පට්ට මාෆියාවක් බන්. ගසා කන්නම ලෑස්ති කරගත්තු එකක්. හොඳම වැඩේ President ට Complain කරන එකයි. එතනින් තමයි මේකට විසඳුමක් ගන්න පුලුවන්.

අපේ උන් Fb වල Group හදාගෙන හැමිනෙන්න ගියාට ටික දවසකින් උන් group එකට කෙළිනවා. ඕක හැමදාම කරන්න බැහැනෙ. ඕනි නම් උන්ගෙ Fan Page වල Like ටිකක් අඩු වෙයි ඔය Group නිසා සහ Share කරන ඒවා නිසා. නඩු කියලත් විසඳුමක් ගන්න අමාරුයිනෙ. කට්ටියම President ට Complain කරපල්ලා ISP ලට ගොට්ට අල්ලන TRCSL එකේ උන්ටත් කෙළවෙලා යන්නම. ගේම අදිමු.

මේක තමය් මටත් හිතෙන්නෙ කරන්න පූලුවන් හොද වැඩේ..

Hutch expanded the network very recently and they wanted to get some customers. So that's their strategy and better to use if coverage is there but the quality will be going for a six when network is getting loaded.
