Remember the last time with SAITM.... I know how well it was regulated. I personally know of my friends' children who got in.
Also recall that some couldn't even produce their AL results. They had selective amnesia when it came to this question.

I have no objection to this scheme as long as the entry is regulated with the UGC with transparency. Also the course should be run well with proper standards both in education delivery and the clinicals - otherwise the medical degree from SL will be a joke like in many places in India.

PS: As you said there were doctors who belonged to wealthy families who didn't fleece the patients. I know of doctors who discharged patients and give them funds to go home and also to purchase medicines.
