yes I got professional support!
The SE said 12mm is enough for 1st floor columns and beams coz the ground floor walls are 9" thick as he said 12mm enough to bare the weight of second slab as well. i have a roof top in my house. but i have seen some people are using 16mm
now i have doubts..
It depends machan. In my design I don't have enough walls in the middle of the house. I preferred the house to be having less walls. So my Engineer used 18 x 9 beams and 16 mm tor steel to bear the load of the slab. If you have enough walls to support the slab beams, I don't see a fault in using 12 mm tor steel.
By the way I had to bring the Engineer several times to the site to explain the mason how the tor to be tied and connected with others. Actually those designs are too much complicated for a ordinary mason to understand.
Anyway due to continuous reference of those drawings, now I can read and suggest the best method even without the Engineer. LOL
