Australia's selectors have lost patience with Glenn Maxwell, putting "the big show" on hiatus by dropping him for the ODI series in Sri Lanka and instructing him to work on evolving into a more consistent batsman.

ඔන්න අනිත් ටික....
"If you want to play cricket for Australia, you should be consistent. If you are batsman, you should get consistent runs. If you are a bowler, you should get consistent wickets, or bowl well," Marsh said. "As far as I am concerned, he has had a lot of chances. It got to that stage - we couldn't go on any longer. Glenn has too many games where he doesn't contribute with the bat. He is a hell of a good fieldsman, as we know, he is handy bowler, and, at his best, he is one of our first picked in a one-day team.
"But if he is not making runs, then we have got to find a solution to it. The solution we have come up with is to put him back a step or two and see if he can get some runs there on a consistent basis. When you have got as much talent as that, you should be able to play all forms. He took it as well as what could be expected. No one likes being dropped but he understood the reasons and he also understands what he's got to do."

mage choice ekat okama tama
Dhananjaya will and should bat in the middle order. shouldn't fuck him up by letting him to open the innings. more over I feel Kusal isn't the best to open the innings in Test. He is found wanting when it comes to pace or swing at the beginning of the innings. as soon as you get fast straight in dipper he is pretty much going to be LBW. unless we are playing in England or something I still believe Tharanga should open. not every bowler/not every ground will test his outside off stump issue. even then I think he has improved in that aspect. he could still be the aggressiveness that we are lacking on top. on the other hand I feel someone like Rumesh Buddika/Minod Banuka can open along with him. also ironically, although everyone thought Kusal Menids as a good no 3 batsman, his best innings came when he batted at no 4. So something to think about that as well.
best XI for future
1. Tharanga
2. Rumesh Buddika/Minod Banuka
3. Chandimal
4. Kusal Mendis
5. Mathews
6. Dhananjaya
7. Kusal (WK)
8. Herath
9. Sandakan
10. Chameera
11. Prasad

with kusal janith im only thinking about the next 2 test, and im not really sure why but i think dhananjaya can do well as a long term opener for us,
taranga i dont know , after all his avg 40 in the First-class level list a even worst than that
roshen silva must play,

kausal and dimut both gotta go, may be then we can even get tharanga to open with dananjaya or kusa j
no because we need solid batsman in the middle something not everyone can do. Dhananjaya seems to be a confident batsman who can do the exact same thing.
I would like to see Roshen Silva. but does he have a place in the team? may be he can open with Tharanga?

dude, dhananjaya already scored so man runs for tamil union and srilanka A, as a opener,, even in srilanka a tour of eng 2016,, i just checked i was surprised to see his record as an opener, roshen is no opener, best number 5 in domestic arena,
if dhananjaya is a confident batsman thats what we need as the opener, dont u think
thats the place for roshen![]()
Well I know Roshen is a middle order batsman but I don't see a place to give to him in the middle order. may be De Silva s records are good as an opening batsman but remember how many double centuries Dimuth got before he came in to the national side? did he manage to replicate the same? no. I jut feel Dhananjaya is perfect for the middle order.
