not sure what you mean here by complex features. if he just needs to go about using his pc without doing any manual tinkering the experience would be similar whether he opted for AMD or Intel
I've been using an AMD based system for over 4 years now and so far it has been smooth sailing without any issues
14th gen intel are power hungry and tend to run hotter though so that's a factor he should take into consideration

I think this should be considered a plus point right?
being able to upgrade the CPU 3 or 4 years down the line would actually be a pretty neat feature
besides AMD doesn't lock overclocking in any of their CPUs like intel does (I guess this would be an advanced feature though)
compatibility issues with new CPUs are typically addressed by manufacturers as new CPUs come out though. I'm using a x470 motherboard and I had to do a firmware upgrade to use a 3700x with it.

seems like there have been some reported incidents of 7000xd CPUs overheating but they've been addressed with firmware updates though
14th gen intel are actually more power hungry and tend to run hotter, especially when looking at higher end unlocked CPUs

මගේ priority තිබ්බේ gaming > work > video editing. ඒ නිසා Intel වලට යන්න ලොකු හේතුවක් තිබ්බේ නෑ. උබට intel වල media encording/decording වැදගත් වෙයි video editing වලට priority වැඩි නිසා. gaming priority build එකක්නම් AMD වලට යන්න ලාබයි.
7900X වගේ එකක් ගන්නවම් පොඩ්ඩ්ක් cooling ගැන බලන්න. ලංකාවේ උශ්ණත්වයත් වැඩි නිසා heat dissipating අඩුයිනේ. Intel ගියත් ඉතින් වෙනසක් නෑ.

Future upgradability ගැන හැමෝම කියල තියෙන කතාව ඇත්ත. ඒත් උබේ ඕමනාව work > video editing > gaming නම් AMD වලට වඩා Intel බිල්ඩ් එකක් තමා ගැලපෙන්නේ. OC වලට කැමති නම් ඒක බලල build කරගන්න.
