There are few subjects in BIT compared with the SLIIT.
But compared with UoM BIT SLIIT have few subjects.
SLIIT gives you lectures. But don't except BIT guys will give you and guide you through that.
Only LMS ( online learning system ) and youtube videos. Best pass results are from self studies not from any institute.
And in BIT final year project counts lots of skills and expertise than the subjects you learn there. That's why it owns a huge number of credits. You need to be an master of your technology stack you choose to complete your project. I once failed the project. Things are like that. BIT is cheaper because it's not lectures. You got google and internet. But that's fine. Most of the MSC level studies are self studies. and self research than academic degrees like SLIIT. It's good if you willing to do higher studies. POST graduate courses are "POST" , post office method studies.
The term "POST" reflect it's both meanings. Smartest students only pass the project at once and degree program in 3 years.
If you can't be your own and actually prove that you learn skills and expertise [which means you actually learn it the hard way] , BIT is not for you. If you such a person who need continuous guidance , BIT is not for you. If you are a baby crying for knowledge and asking please please code me for this BIT is not for you, instead you should cry , hay I'm stuck in here, any possibility ? Any walk-around ?
About computer labs and human resource , the SLIIT is more higher than BIT. True there are super lectures in BIT , but they are NOT available for you.They only maintain course syllabus and make question papers. You can't go and take guidance from them. They will say I'm busy. There are NO "Office Time" in when you following BIT.
And to compare with SLIIT vs BIT @UoM I do need up-to-date syllabus on SLIIT. I mean detailed syllabus. BIT syllabus is online.
Please note that in BIT you don't find completely computer science subjects. There are business and web subjects too. So if your interest is in pure computer science , BIT is not suitable for you.
It does not cover at least half of the computer science courses, main things are dropped, like artificial intelligence, compiler theory, operating systems. But when you complete the degree most probably you will be end up with their knowledge because you won't be able to complete your project without that bunch of knowledge.
One mistake that I did is , I do chose BIT to learn computer science. Computer science degree is a based on a research and academic background. It does not make you a software engineer but a computer research assistant. Then you could complete your Masters and PHD and then become a computer scientist in research level. So I need to complete a Master in Pure CS to perform my dreams. Bad isn't it In SL we don't have a cheap BIT like alternative for computer science.
