Ideally there should be at least 6 competitive sides but every year we get some hot mess like B-Love. And it is a liability to the league. Of course LPL doesn’t generate enough interest to find players to put together 6, 7 teams yet and I don’t think the staff is strong enough to run that.

If we cannot add a couple of quality teams (quality being the key word), do with 5 teams for now but change the league format to something more sensible. Instead of a 4-team qualifier stage, concoct a knockout round for the top 3 or something, I don’t know. It wouldn’t be fair but it would be purposeful. Otherwise the whole league stage becomes a month-long dead rubber.

If LPL cannot increase teams, which I don’t think is possible money-wise, AND they are reluctant to change the format a little bit, people are going to be severely disenchanted- especially the overseas crowd.
