මම අද ගියා මචං බැන්ක් එකට. ඒකේදි Cash deposit slip එකක් අරගෙන account No තියෙන තැනට Payment Reference N number එක දැම්මා. බැංකුවෙ න් ඇහුවා පාස්පොට් වලටද කියලා. ඔව් කිව්වාම දාලා දුන්නා, ඇඩිශනල් රු 62.50 ගත්තා.
ඒවෙලෙම immigration එකේන් sms එකක් ආවා ඇගිලි සලකුණු තියන්න දිනයක් දිලා. මට ආවේ අගෝස්තු 03, ඒත් වයිෆ්ට අදම ආවා. ගියා ප්‍රා:ලේ එකට. වයිෆ්ගේ ඇගිලි සලකුණු ගත්තා. වෙන කිසි එකේක් හිටියේ නෑ, මම කිව්වා මගේ එක අගෝ 03තියෙන්නේ මට අද දෙන්න පුළුවන්හ කියලා. ඊම බැරිලු කියපු දිනේටම එන්නලු... බලපන් එකේත් හැටි.. ගිය වේලාවෙම කිසිම පෝලිමක් නැති එකේ ගත්තේ නැත්තේ සිස්ටම් එකේ දිලා තියෙන දිනයටම ගන්න ඕන නිසාද දන්නේ නෑ.. රාජ්‍ය සේවයනේ

I applied online and today gave the Fingerprints at Head-office ..............It is very convenient it seems


1. take photo in a registered studio, they will give you a reference number
2. Get the Scaned images of your Birth certificate back and front , NIC back and Front ,previous passport , Your degree certificate if you are putting your profession , Employment confirmation letter ( all document should be JPEG , No PDF allowed )
3. Register your mobile and email in https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/onlinetd/OnlineTD/'#/home ( Mozilla firefox browser doesn't work , use alternative )
4. Fill the application and upload all relevant documents , It gives you a reference number to pay at nearest BOC branch as well as it ask you to select place to give fingerprints ,my suggestion is to go to nearest regional office , Head office is still very crowded
5 Online payment options doesn't work , You have to physically go to branch ( 5000 for normal service 14 days , 15000 for urgent service 3 days after fingerprints
6 In bank get a normal deposite slip and write refference number in Account number field deposit money ,once done you will get a messege from imigration for Finger Prints
7. Go to the place with your previous Passport ( if Any ) and with NIC and give finger prints ...they will give you a form to sign to get the signature scanned
8. then all done .....They will send you urgent service by courier or Normal service by normal post

This is my experience so far . I saw still there are very huge queues at HQ for manual passport process . There are few things that has to improve in this online system ....but this is very good initiative for digital srilanka

Update on my Application

** I gave my Finger Prints on 13th July
** 26th July , Postman had returned the Passport , Saying nobody at home ( Post office call and informed ) , Even it says by Courier Service ....Its just registered Post
** Went to post Office today early morning and Collect it from there

So whole process took 9 working Days ( Almost Two Weeks ) for 3 Day Service
