good thread though, most of these are right There are extraterrestrial life. there is no doubt about that what so ever. you are kidding your self if you think there are not life apart from on earth. there is lot to discuss in this. but anyway have a look at this

i didn't see this earlier machn... in this thread does not i'm not intending to state that there isn't life other than earth this thread is about why we cant communicate with aliens if they do exsist... i know the thread titlle is bit misleading , sorry about that...

4 States of unhappiness or sub human realms: (life in hells, animal life, ghost-worlds and demon-worlds)
1 Human world.
6 Develokas or heavenly realms.
16 Rupalokas or Realms of Fine-Material Forms.
4 Arupalokas or Formless Realms.

maybe something about parallel universes.. hard to tell. but i don't think it is wise thing to interpret eveything buddha said with modern scientific findings...

In my opinion, if the size of the universe is infinite or close to infinity, and it is filled with planets and solar systems, the possibility of something happening (anything including the existence of intelligent life) is high even if the probability is very low. Think of it as this way, a coin has two sides. So the probability of getting one side is 1/2? If something else has the probability of occurrence of 1/x where x is close to infinity, trying that x times would have a higher possibility of occurrence. this is just my opinion.

yeah that is true , but the problem is what are chances of such 2 intelligent civilizations meeting or atlest communication with each other.?? very slim right.? say we are the only intelligent species in this whole galaxy and there is another intelligent civilization in andromida galaxy.., then the probability of meating both civilizations is really small. it could be realistically possible only if atleast one of those civilization is much much more tchnically advanced then what we are currently...

Yes. Probability of two species meeting each other is even low. And theres another thing, I doubt if the way we search for life in other planets might be wrong. We look for signs of water and carbon. This way, we are actually looking for another species just like us. There might be life made with in-organic compounds at a extreme hot and cold places too. Maybe we were emerged cos the earth has perfect condition for life. Or maybe we just happen to emerge here and became fitting to (evolved) what ever the condition existed here

And my next question is, the pet dog we have maybe don't recognise us as a superior and more intelligent specie. In a similar way, are we going to be able to recognise a superior specie to us as superior species if we actually meet them? I doubt. What if we already has met them but we continue to ignore them without realising that they are superior? Just like all other animals ignore us?
