Unauthorized Activities
User is not authorized to use the internet facility for an activity which violates a Law/Regulation/Rule/Order issued by the Government/Parliament/ Regulatory Bodies/Legal body or a Court of Law. Unauthorized activities for USER are listed below but this list is not exhaustive and if the User has any doubt he/she/it should seek the assistance of SLT in order to clarify such issues.
Any attempt on the part of the User to access or modify unauthorized computer system information or to interfere with normal system operations, which might result in causing a denial of service to other users, whether successful or not, or to gain access to any account, not belonging to that User ( spoofing), including but not limited to ‘hacking’ (attempt to circumvent authentication or security of any host, network or account) - on SLT’s equipment, or of any computer system or network accessed via SLT’s communications services – will result in the immediate suspension of the services. These unauthorized activities include, but are not limited to :
Guessing at or using passwords other than the User’s own, or any such unauthorized attempts.
Sharing User’s own password(s) and account(s) with others not authorized by SLT to use said password(s) and account(s)
Accessing or attempting to access information that does not have public access permission.
Accessing any computer system on which the User or the public is not welcome.
Any attempt to obtain or actually obtaining service, using any means and / or device, with an intent to avoid payment for such services.
Any action by a User which, in SLT’s sole opinion, restricts or inhibits other clients from using and enjoying the services offered by SLT is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to the use of vulgar language; committing, or discussing with the intention to commit, illegal activities, publication, transmission, reception, data exchange, mail posting, news posting, news reading or any other form of transfer of data, material, information or software in violation of any law is prohibited and is a breach of the Service Agreement.
The User may not use their SLT Broadband service connection to run programs or servers that provide network content or connectivity to any third party not at the location where the connection is installed. Examples of prohibited programs include but are not limited to, mail, FTP, HTTP, game, newsgroup, proxy servers.
.The User may not resell or otherwise charge others for the use of their internet connection. This service is for recreational, individual use only and may not be used for shared use for resale, commercial use etc.
Spamming: User shall not use the internet services to send unsolicited email (also known as ‘ SPAM ') to anyone residing on SLT servers or through SLT servers (also known as ‘relay') or when dialed in or connected to the SLT network.
The following types of email sent shall be construed as spam
Forged From or/and To address/addresses other than From the actual sender or/and To the actual recipient.
Unsolicited bulk emails sent as advertisements, promotions etc
Mass e-mails (email bombs or flooding) carried out by automated programs or viruses, worms and Trojans.
Emails not requested by the recipient.
Message subject not related to the contents of the email body.
System abuse is strictly prohibited. Exploiting the security of the network which includes but not be limited to crack passwords or security encryption codes, access data not intended for the user (sniff network traffic) and scanning for live network resources on SLT or other networks is not entertained at any level and will results in immediate termination of Service and hold the User financially liable for any damage, and if applicable, instituting legal action against the user.
User shall not attempt to interfere or hinder the service provided to any other user, host or network (denial of service attacks). This includes, but is not limited to flooding of networks, deliberate attempts to overload a server or a service.
User is prohibited to misusing the internet services including, but not limited to,
E-Mail Relay: Any use of another party's electronic mail server to relay e-mail without express permission from such other party is prohibited.
To carry out or assist or attempt to carry out mail bombing or any other activity which overloads any mail box with huge e- mail(s) or a large number of e – mails.
Creating, transmitting, storing or publishing any information or software which contains a Virus, Trojans, Worm or other harmful component.
Knowingly or negligently transmitting or uploading any electronic material (including, without limit, files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs) which is known to cause or likely to cause, interrupt, damage, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware or telecommunications equipment owned by SLT or any other internet user or person.
Allowing activities that invade another’s privacy, cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to any person
Post, transmit, publish, reproduce or distribute information, software or other material obtained through the Service which is protected by copyright, patent or any other intellectual proprietary rights, without obtaining the prior approval of the copyright owner or right holder.
Transmit or post on web sites any information pertaining to SLT or any other network and the disclosure of it deemed threatening to the normal functioning of such networks.
To run port-scanning software or similar programs
To infringe or facilitate infringement of any intellectual property right of any person
For any purpose which against public interest, public order or national harmony
In violation of any laws relating to unfair competition, anti – discrimination or false advertising
