Adjusting The Headlight
Your headlight has two settings:
• SS High beam, where the beam is parallel to the ground. Useful when riding on dark roads at night. Not to be used when there's oncoming traffic.
• SS Low beam, where the beam is pointed down. Best for city riding and/or when riding slowly on bad roads.

You should adjust your headlight so that it points in the correct direction. You should do this if you've changed your headlamp bulb, or if you've had a crash in which your headlight has hit the road.

Here's how you do it:
1. SS At night, park your bike about 20 feet away from a wall.
2. SS On the wall, mark the height of your headlight. If it isn't your wall, don't make a permanent mark.
3. SS Remove your bike from the stand, sit on it, start it and switch on the headlight.
4. SS See where the bright center of your headlight beam hits the wall. Is it higher or lower than the mark you've made?
5. SS Put your bike on the stand. Take a screwdriver (the toolkit has one) and

For a Classic (or DTSi without fairing):

a. Kneel down in front of the headlight, facing it. You may want to switch off the headlight before you do this.

b. Look below the dome of the lamp. There should be a screw, which goes back and is connected to the rest of the front fork assembly. This is the screw you have to adjust.

c. Turn the screw counter-clockwise to lower your headlight, and clockwise to raise it.

For a DTSi (with a fairing)

a. Put the bike on main stand and turn the handle to the left.

b. Stand to the right of the bike.

c. Peep into the faring just in line with the indicator, move aside the wiring that that you see. There is a screw far inside the faring.

d. Take a screw driver and turn the screw clockwise to lift the beam up and anti-clockwise to bring the beam down.
6. SS After a few turns of the screw, repeat step 3 & 4. If you aren't satisfied, repeat steps 5, 6 & 7.
7. SS Now put your headlight on low beam and do the same adjustments. You may have to work out a compromise between the angles of high and low beam you desire.
8. SS Final test - point your bike at a parked car about 20 feet away. At high beam, the light from your motorcycle should hit the car somewhere above the bonnet. At low beam, it should be much lower. Remember, you don't want to glare the oncoming traffic.
