I've built a linear regulator coz I couldn't find SMPS,But it's waste of energy.
You better to get SMPS![]()
very inefficient for this sort of task though

use TIP3055 for the T/R 
I've built this and connected to the inverter without battery to test
Make sure to use heat sinksuse TIP3055 for the T/R
