What ? How can a court direct SLMC to structure the application. There was no such direction in the judgment. So there will not be any contempt. They can ignore the letter by law firm, or can ask them to file contempt charges.
If one has forgotten AL results in five years, we can imagine the mental capacity of such graduates and they will also say that they have forgotten all the human anatomy they learned in the first year? Do we actually wanted these doctors to treat us, our children and our parents?(I am not a doctor and not against private higher educational institutes including medical field) Can we blame the SLMC for asking AL results, they as a statutory professional body is entitled to ask for information relevant for their registration. Even UGC asks for O/L results for certain courses e.g (English and Sinhala for LLB, and English for BSc (Built Environment) etc). For e.g Physics is not taught in Medical College but essential for all the doctors as they work with lot of medical equipment So a person who has not done such a subject, will be a material thing that SLMC would consider. So, my view is SLMC can request for AL results from any applicant. If medical graduates have forgotten their AL results, they can go the examination department or to the school and they will happily provide such information!!!!(Please note that all government servants are required to provide exam results (even O/L) at the time of recruitment and they will also be verified by the examination department-I do not know whether there is an exception for Doctors). Why do you to lawyers when ask for AL results.
